I’m not much of a water colorist, but wanted something to be able to take with me out in nature in the future. It’s the cutest little kit. Colors are simple and it looks like it will be fun to use. I’ve already tried it in-house and it’s super fun. It will serve its purpose, and that’s to relax and paint with simplicity. :)
I bought one for me and my stepdaughter - we love it. I can take it anywhere and totally get lost in abstract coloring, play with techniques... it's so cute. So compact. It's perfect 😊👌

I bought myself this kit (with the Schmincke paints) on a whim and I am so happy with my purchase.
The little metal tin is well-made, the paints are housed in a resin insert, which will make it easier to clean and refill when the day comes.
The Schmincke paints are good quality, nicely pigmented, and the colors included provide a good range.
The brush and sketchbook are a nice addition. I would describe them as ‘student grade’ rather than professional grade, good enough to throw in a bag and make some field sketches!
I love this kit and would recommend it to anyone wanting get some more painting in, but find they don’t have the time or space to whip a whole bunch of supplies out.
Just the kit for those of us that paint on the go.
Update of my review. Love it! Just wish there'd been a white in the kit, and I didn't know about the magnet on the back of the clip until I was done lol.
This is the cutest, most adorable travel watercolour set ever! I love it. In all it's tiny-ness, it seems sturdy. Can't wait to fill it with paint.
Love these little palettes! They hold enough watercolor paint to do quick sketches on the run, and make great, economical gifts for art loving friends. I’ve bought several.
Took this out on a short hike, it is so compact and lightweight I love it. The water tin has a rubber seal so no leaking and it clips perfectly to my sketchbook. I enjoy backpacking as well so this is perfect for a semi light travel set.
It's now a permanent addition to my travel art kit. Can't recommend it enough!
This tin palette is so small, but sooo CUTE! I never knew this existed so it's been a great find.
It's a nice, compact small size with just enough slots for the paints in my favorite/main colors. It's good quality material, too!

I love the travel kit. The paper in the notebook is nice. Everything seems solidly made and fit for purpose. I love the little travel brush. I love that I can take it anywhere.
It lost one star for me because the metal part that holds in the paint pans make it so that some of those paint pans are exceptionally difficult to fill. It's possibly that I could force this piece out of the kit to have easier access to fill, but there is no intuitive way to remove it and I hesitate to use force when it might result in breaking it all togther.
I bought 2 sets - one for each car. I bought the empty well sets and filled with the watercolors that work for me. There are enough wells so that you can mix to any color with your selections. I use the water fillable travel brushes and use the water holder to rinse before changing colors.
The compact painting kit was well received as a surprise Christmas present
I bought a Nomad Artist kit for my daughter-in-law as a Christmas present in early December, thinking it would have plenty of time to get to us in time. As it got close to Christmas, there was no indication that the oder was going to make it in time. I got in touch with Cynthia at ArtMate, who immediately responded to my concern, assuring me that they keep track of the orders and our was not lost. Over the next week I was in touch with Cynthia 2 more times, each time getting an immediate and personal response. Indeed, the order was not lost, and , while it was a few days late, it was very happily received. My DIL is very happy with the gift and looking forward to using it. While delays are out of everyone's hand, I did appreciate the immediate attention to my concern.
My wife is an amazing artist and travels quite a bit. I think this is something that she could really use. I’ll let you know more after Christmas.
I was gifted this for a trip to the tropics. It was a great way to have a little setup on the side to paint en plein air between things!
I bought this to bring on a trip to Italy, because I wanted to be able to sketch and paint but also wanted to travel light. This kit was the perfect solution. The colors are nice and smooth, perfect for quick sketches. And the kit itself is sturdy. I like the fact that it isn’t plastic. Fits in your pocket or tucked into a corner of your luggage.
